Scrap Gold: Selling Your Finds
This is the part where you make money selling gold and other precious metals you have discovered in unlikely places. It is often the most exciting part of the entire process, and it’s also one of the parts you need to be careful about.
Watch out for things like “gold parties” or selling your precious metals online. In addition, avoid jewelers and look out for pawn shops. You may make a little profit with these buyers (usually about 30% of actual value, nice if you’ve spent very little money), but that’s not where the big money is.
Instead, find reputable precious metals dealers who can give you 70% or 80% of the current price for gold. There are many who deal specifically in coins, and many who purchase scrap gold. Don’t be afraid to ask specific questions, and if at all possible, take your time and conduct a little research to find out where you can make the most money.
Last, but not least, remember that second hand gold is wealth that is easily converted to sound investments including real gold of your own, so do your best to put it to work for you. Good luck, and happy hunting!
